I saw this silliness this morning on Facebook, misspellings and bad grammar left just the way they appeared:
"We will replace Jesus with, with a giant asteroid size of the titanic. when hit hits the earth amen to extintion of the human race!"
Well glory be to gawd and all that crap. We, the heathen non-believers, will all fall in a vast pit of flame while all believers will be saved. There is just no other possible result. Or are you a zealot blasphemer, in which case you will CERTAINLY spend eternity in Hell?

It is very hard to comprehend what I consider the brain-washed belief in such simple sad-sack silliness. It is like all the lemmings jumping off the cliff to their deaths; it is a bee-hive of believers, all smoked out of the hive by the illogic they live by.

The lemmings phenomenon, I believe, has largely been proven to be incorrect, a TV invention. SURPRISE!

Yet, some believe in an all-knowing deity who could IMMEDIATELY solve ALL the world's problems, yet doesn't. He parted the Red Sea; he walked on water; he made bread out of wine; heck, why not?
Something doesn't make sense here. No one has ever seen this gawd, and documented it. Yet, we're STILL supposed to believe it. Hello? News alert! We, as a species, are supposed to be getting SMARTER.

You could argue that we're actually getting DUMBER if the things we most watch on TV are any indication. Little People? The guy with seven wives? Beauty pageants for kids? Shows all about picking out a wedding dress?

Many things, no doubt, Doug. My own experience with religion, lemmings and other things has combined to make me, I'm sad to say, a cynic. There is no more ASSUMING that everything I see is as simple as it seems. No more idealism, or trust in just anything. Now my standards or my bullshit tests are much more discriminating. People have shown -- even a seemingly monolithic goody two-shoes like Disney -- that if given the opportunity, they'll deceive for their own purposes.
